Balochistan’s Minister of Finance, Communications and Public Works (C&W), Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, said on Friday that the government of Balochistan will present a citizens-friendly budget for the financial year 2022-23 on June 20.

Speaking to JPA, he said that in the budget, funds would be allocated to 65 Balochistan Assembly constituencies on an equal basis to ensure equal development in all parts of the province. .
Abdul Rehman said that the current provincial government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, will present its first budget, and that it has strived to make it a friendly and balanced budget with the aim of relieving maximum the inhabitants of Balochistan.
He said that due to Balochistan’s limited resources, next year’s budget might project a slight deficit, but after the Reko Dik deal by the current government, he would be able to present a better budget in the coming years. .
During his tenure, the former chief minister failed to allocate funds to many important areas and deliberately neglected opposition constituencies when allocating funds, he said, adding that the current government would guarantee the provision of funds to all constituencies on an equal footing.

He said, while answering a question, that the current provincial government is trying to serve the people as much as possible and will not repeat the mistakes made by previous governments.
“We are not claiming that we are going to end all the miseries of Balochistan in the next budget, but our effort is to serve the people better than before,” he concluded.
